Big Dig April 2019

Despite the stormy weather forecast we had a good turn out of our committed regulars and some joyful and hardworking newcomers. The orchard area took a whole lot of effort be the results are great. Thanks and see you next time.

Mon 22/04 11-15 Taster Day and Easter Egg Hunt

As always, we’ll start the day with a nice cup of tea, then see what needs doing around the plot – weeding and watering, planting and pruning, building and maintaining…

We’ll get the kids’ toys out for lots of fun, and with a bit of luck, you may spot the Easter Bunny!

The Easter egg hunt will be around 1 pm followed by a shared lunch with vegetarian / vegan options – you’re welcome to bring a dish to share!

Big Dig Day Sat 27/04

Come along to the Big Dig Day at Southend in Transition Community Allotment!

It’s good for your body, mind, nature and community! This year we are reaching out also to local gyms, shoppers clubs etc as they might like the physical activity while helping their community. Please share with your sporty friends!

We will extend our normal hours that day enabling local residents as well as our friends from further away to come and join us.

There will be plenty of cake, tea, coffee and a barbecue at 12, 15 and 17 o’clock with vegan and vegetarian options.

We will have activities for children such as painting, mud kitchen, building fairy houses from materials provided by nature, toys, watering and feeding plants.
